SiteScope Preferences and Options

SiteScope allows you to set preferences and options for how SiteScope will integrate with your network environment. Clicking the Preferences link on the SiteScope navigation menu displays the General Preferences page. The Preferences navigation menu is displayed below the Main navigation links at the top of the SiteScope page. The following is an example of the SiteScope navigation links showing the Preferences menu links.

The following table is a overview of the options and settings that can be configured using SiteScope Preferences. For more information about how to work with these settings, choose the appropriate link below or click the help button on the applicable preference setting page within SiteScope:

Preference Page

Description

General Preferences

Enter standard SiteScope license keys, license keys for optional monitor features, control SiteScope display options and features, and set SiteScope security options.

Dynamic Update

Define connectivity profiles and options for dynamically creating SiteScope monitors based on entries made in an external SQL database or SNMP database.

E-mail Preferences

Define e-mail server, message, and destination settings for use with SiteScope E-mail Alerts.

Log Preferences

Control the amount of SiteScope monitor data that is saved on the SiteScope server and configure optional logging of data to an external database.

Pager Preferences

Define connection and command settings for using SiteScope Pager Alerts

Schedule Preferences

Define and manage custom schedules for running or disabling SiteScope monitors and alerts

SiteSeer Preferences

Enter server and authentication data to add an existing SiteSeer Hosted Service account as a group on the SiteScope main page.

Topaz Preferences

Enter server and authentication information to register SiteScope with a Topaz server. Also used to configure the Topaz Watchdog feature.

TMS Preferences

Enter server and authentication information to register SiteScope with a Topaz Managed Services server.

SNMP Preferences

Define settings for use with SiteScope SNMP Trap Alerts.

Remote UNIX

Define, configure, and manage SiteScope connectivity profiles for monitoring remote UNIX/Linux servers.

Remote NT

Define, configure, and manage SiteScope connectivity profiles for monitoring remote Windows servers.
